SkillsGlass blowing, quartz tube fabrication/encapsulation, vacuum heat treating, and melt spinning of materials, arc melt casting, sand casting, general metal casing skills, heat treating, tensile property measurements, hot isostatic press (HIP) canning fabrication and consolidation of materials, general powder metallurgy skills. ConsultingCaterpillar, mechanical testing on tool steels, united technologies research center, and in conjunction with Dr. Darrell Smith; powder metallurgy fabrication for snap-on-tools. PersonalMy outside interests are serious road bike riding and furniture making. Three years ago I built my own house, I was personally involved in 90% of its construction, and it was quite a learning experience being your own contractor.
