Materials Processing Facilities

Facilities

  • Equipment for powder processing, including attritors, spex mills, blenders, cold and hot presses, cold and hot isostatic presses, and sintering in hydrogen or in vacuum;
  • A fully-functional foundry which routinely pours aluminum and iron castings;
  • Equipment for deformation processing, including rolling and swaging;
  • Arc melters and vacuum induction melters, along with crystal growth facilities via induction and focussed arc-image furnaces;
  • A complete line of heat treating facilities
  • Molecular beam epitaxy, physical vapor deposition, chemical vapor deposition.
  • Equipment for comminution, including crushers, roll mills, pulverizers, attritors and spex mills;
  • Equipment for separation, including flotation, magnetic separation, electrostatic separation, hydraulic separation, and shakers;
